I have received numerous calls from members of the community on the Northern Beaches asking how they can support victims of the current bushfires and those battling drought. I am being contacted in my capacity as a Northern Beaches Councillor and because of my previous long involvement with the Salvos and emergency service organisations.

I am advising that the most practical way to support those impacted by bushfires and drought is to make a monetary donation to one of the official charities or organisations involved.  Accordingly I am directing people to the Sky News website (see links  below) which has a list of some of the charities and organisations which are providing assistance.
